May 2025 Retail Tractor Sales: 70,623 Tractors Sold With A Growth Of 2.11%

In May 2025, the Indian agricultural machinery sector experienced huge growth. The reason behind this growth is that retail tractor sales showed a 2.11% increase in May 2025. Regarding the sales figures, 70,623 tractors were sold, whereas in May 2024, they were 69,162. Tractor manufacturers saw better results than in May 2024, suggesting rising rural demand, good crop prospects, and easier access to financing.

Top Performers

Mahindra Tractors: On our first list, we have the Mahindra Tractors, who continue to dominate the market with 16,507 units sold. The company has maintained its leadership position with a 23.37% market share. The company had a marginal decline in volume from May 2024, though it managed to hold its ground with a 0.35% market share increase.
Swaraj Tractors: After Mahindra, we have the Swaraj Tractors. The company saw robust growth with 13,642 units. Talking about the market share of the company it is 19.32%. In the previous year, the market share of this company was 18.94%.
Sonalika Tractors: Talking about Sonalika Tractors, they sold 9,619 units, witnessing a healthy year-on-year growth and also raising its market share to 13.62%. It indicates a rise of 0.28%.
Kubota: On the fourth list, we have Kubota, who was the highest gainer in terms of market share, with 8,158 units sold. The market share is 11.55% in May 2025, which indicates a 0.48% growth.

Mixed results among other brands

John Deere: Now, talking about the brand that came up with mixed results, and it is none other than John Deere. The sales figure of the company landed at 5,868 units and saw a 0.92% increase in market share with a figure of 8.31%.
New Holland: We also have the New Holland tractors contributing 4.28% of the market share. The total sales of the company stands at 3,022 units. In May 2024, sales were 2,841 units, which showcased an 181 unit growth.
Gromax: Lastly, Gromax recorded a sales figure of 256 units and the market share of the company is 0.36%. Compared to last year, the growth rate of Gromax is better, as last year it recorded 183 sales units.

Declining performances

Massey Ferguson: Talking about the declining performance, Massey Ferguson is on the number one list. In May 2025, the figure declined to 7,502 units, whereas on May 24, it was 8,516 units. It signifies a 1,014 units decline.
Eicher Tractors: Surprisingly, Eicher Tractors dipped, decreasing from 4,465 units to 4,311, resulting in a 0.35% loss of market share. In the coming days, the company can recover its declining sales value.
Kubota Mini: Talking about Kubota Mini, it resulted in a sales figure of 797 units. On May 24, the sales figure for this brand was 1,157 units. The market share had a decline of 1.13%.
Others: The other category, which includes smaller brands, also shrank marginally. From 987 units last year to 941 units in the current year. The share dipped from 1.43% to 1.33%.
