Sonalika Records Highest-Ever August Sales at 12,581 Tractors

Sonalika has delivered a strong August 2026 performance, recording its highest-ever August overall sales of 12,581 tractors, including domestic and export markets. The achievement comes under the company’s “DUM Ki Udaan” campaign and highlights growing momentum across its market operations. Outpacing the Industry

Sonalika says its August performance represents 1.9X the estimated industry growth. While the broader tractor market continues to operate in a relatively moderate growth environment, Sonalika’s performance indicates stronger-than-market momentum. The numbers point to a combination of market reach, product competitiveness and improved demand capture as the company heads into the crucial festive and harvesting period.

Record Production Supports Sales Momentum

The company’s manufacturing performance was equally notable. Sonalika produced a record 18,067 tractors in August 2026, its highest-ever monthly production, at its Hoshiarpur manufacturing facility. The production figure is significant because it demonstrates that the company is building sufficient manufacturing throughput to support higher market volumes. The gap between production and sales also indicates that Sonalika is strengthening inventory availability ahead of the upcoming peak-demand season.

Management Commentary

Raman Mittal, Joint Managing Director, International Tractors Limited, said the company’s manufacturing capabilities, product portfolio and market agility are increasingly aligned with farmer requirements. He highlighted the company’s confidence going into the festive season and pointed to the new Gold Series tractors as an important addition to Sonalika’s product portfolio.

Sonalika’s August Performance

August is generally a transition period for the tractor industry, with demand expected to strengthen as the festive and harvesting cycles gain momentum. Against this backdrop, Sonalika’s record August sales provide an early indication of strong retail and channel momentum. The combination of record sales and record production could position the company well for the coming months, provided market demand continues to strengthen during the festive season.

Krishi Vikas Perspective

Sonalika’s August numbers are significant not only because of the sales record, but because they combine market outperformance with manufacturing scale-up. A 12,581-unit sales performance, alongside monthly production of 18,067 tractors, suggests that the company is preparing aggressively for higher seasonal demand. The key industry question now is whether this momentum can be sustained when the broader tractor market enters its peak festive buying cycle. The coming months will provide a clearer picture of whether Sonalika’s August performance represents a one-month peak or the beginning of a broader acceleration in market share and volumes.
