Former Panasonic India Chairman and CEO Manish Sharma has joined Escorts Kubota Limited (EKL) as President of the company’s Agri Business. In his new role, Sharma will oversee the Tractor Business Division, Agri Solutions Business Division, and Service & Spare Parts Business Division, covering both domestic and international markets. Manish Sharma’s New Role as President
The appointment comes as Escorts Kubota continues to focus on technology-led farm mechanisation, global expansion and premiumisation of its tractor portfolio amid increasing competition in the agricultural machinery sector. The Agri Business is the company’s largest business segment.
Sharma brings more than three decades of experience across the consumer electronics and appliances industry, including a 17-year leadership tenure at Panasonic India. His experience spans product development, manufacturing, supply chain management, brand building and business transformation. He has also been associated with industry bodies including FICCI and various policy forums during his previous roles. Sharma continues to serve as a Senior Adviser to Panasonic Energy.
Kubota’s Stake in Escorts Kubota
Based in Faridabad, Escorts Kubota manufactures tractors, agricultural machinery, construction equipment and industrial products. The company markets agricultural products under brands including Farmtrac, Powertrac and Kubota. The Japan-based Kubota Corporation is the promoter and controlling shareholder of Escorts Kubota, with a 53.5% stake following a series of strategic investments. Nikhil Nanda continues to serve as Chairman and Managing Director.
Escorts Kubota has a presence across more than 40 countries and has been expanding its international footprint following Kubota Corporation’s increased investment and shareholding in the company.
