Company Statement

Veejay Nakra, President – Farm Equipment Business, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., said the company sold 27,595 tractors in the domestic market in August 2026, representing 5% growth over the previous year. He attributed the performance to improving rainfall conditions and near-normal Kharif sowing. He also highlighted continued government support through various schemes and the upcoming festive season as factors that could support rural sentiment. In exports, Mahindra sold 1,912 tractors.

Krishi Vikas Industry Insight

Mahindra’s August numbers indicate continued strength in domestic tractor demand, with cumulative FY27 sales growing 16% through August. The 17% growth in domestic cumulative sales suggests that rural demand and farm mechanisation activity remain supportive, while the near-flat monthly export performance points to a more stable international market. For farmers and dealers, the strong cumulative growth also signals healthy tractor demand ahead of the festive season, a period that typically remains important for tractor retail activity.
